Hello! I am going to start a series of blog posts about different types of exercise and I thought I’d introduce it first.
Why exercise?
First off, why should we exercise or care about exercise? Exercise means “physical activity that is done in order to become stronger and healthier” (merriam-webster.com). Our bodies are a gift from God, so we ought to strive to keep them strong and healthy. Since exercise is any physical activity that is meant to make you stronger and healthier, it clearly fits in to a well balanced, holy life. However, I want to make a distinction between this definition of exercise and training in the gym, or weightlifting, or an athlete’s training program. There is nothing wrong with these types of exercise – we should do our best with whatever gifts God has given us, including physical capabilities – but these types of more intense or specialized training are not necessary for everyone. For some, exercise could simply be part of an active job and lifestyle. Exercise should be part of a healthy life, but it should not be something which takes the focus off of God in your life.
About me
A couple years ago, I was in a musical called Honk! and began stretching and doing yoga to be more flexible and healthy for the musical. Then, I got in to pilates, then bodyweight exercises, then weights and HIIT, and now I like to experiment with everything I can find. It helps me reduce my daily stress and anxiety, and I love getting stronger and beating my old records. This series is going to be really fun for me!
About this series
This blog post series is going to be short and simple. I’ll do one post for each different type of exercise I like or have done and share my favorite free YouTube videos, YouTubers, and my recommendations about how to use each type or how I like to use them.
Disclaimer:
Please read carefully!
I am NOT any sort of professional or expert: all recommendations and advice are anecdotal from my personal experience and the many books I have read over the years. Please pay attention to your own body’s abilities and limitations and consult a doctor if necessary before you jump in to any new type of exercise. I am not responsible if you misuse my advice:)
A note about the videos, channels, or books I will be sharing:
If I recommend anything, it is because I like one particular part of it a lot. This does not mean I would dress as someone in a video does, agree with their life advice, or want to promote everything they do. Please do not assume that I do.
All right, now that that’s over with, what is your favorite type or exercise? Or a type of exercise you would like to try?
I am so excited about this series! It’s something I love very much.

Blessings for the rest of your day!
